REHAB

As a dog professional, there is nothing sadder for me to see than a dog suffering from a behavioral problem, because in almost all cases, the problem is not only preventable, but fixable.

Many owners rationalize their dog’s issues by thinking, for example, that his/her uncontrollable barking is simply a part of her being and cannot be helped.  Or they convince themselves that the dog is obsessively digging or chasing her tail because she enjoys the activity (when in actuality the dog is basically helpless to stop the behavior).  Or they resist seeking help from a professional because they are concerned that modifying the dog’s leash aggression, for example, will somehow result in other personality changes, robbing them of the dog they love.

The fact is that most behavioral problems – such as barking, separation anxiety, aggression, hyperactivity, chewing and related destruction, and house training issues – are abnormal to your dog’s true nature, preventing her from being the carefree, balanced creature she was meant to be.  These problems can be addressed and solved, vastly improving the dog’s overall well-being and creating a much healthier relationship between human and animal.  Let us not forget that the human suffers in this equation as well.

Changes must occur in order for these issues to be addressed, changes in the way you care for and relate to your dog.  Often, however, you can get very positive results simply by making small alterations in your routine and by learning to handle your dog properly.  If you are motivated to making a difference in your dog’s life, there is rarely an instance where you cannot free her from the mental imbalances that are causing the behavior problem(s). Your dog wants to become balanced, but cannot without your help.

There are no set prices for the rehab process, because all cases are different.  The initial consultation fee is $100.  The consultation is a one-hour meeting with our trainer, during which a detailed evaluation of your situation will be made.  Your trainer will suggest a rehab plan at that time, which may or may not necessitate further action, such as more sessions or an obedience training course.
